I SEE International Video Art Festival

Berlinische Galerie presents the I SEE International Video Art Festival (March 3–4). Founded in 2013 by artists Constantin Hartenstein and Clemens Wilhelm, I SEE sets out to discover exciting international video art and to connect important video art scenes like Berlin, Beijing, Shanghai, New York and Oslo.

The selected video works examine the impact of technological and aesthetic inventions on the human condition, as well as the challenges and opportunities of an increasingly digitized world.
Thematic priority is given to the fusion of the human body with technology (“The Digital Body”), the invisible presence of death (“Death, Old Friend”) and the forceful powers of architecture that shape our society (“The Force Of Architecture”).

The I SEE International Video Art Festival 2016/17 is supported by AG Kurzfilm, German Films, and China Residencies. Screenings were presented at Goethe Institut China (Beijing), Sichuan Fine Arts Institute (Chongqing) and MADHAUS Shanghai. After being shown at Berlinische Galerie, the festival´s programs will be presented at RAM Galleri Oslo, supported by Goethe Institute Norway.
