Wien Berlin App

Through a selection of works in the exhibition “Vienna Berlin”, the app provides insights into the art of these two cities in the early 20th century. Some of the paintings are accompanied by audio texts that transport us back to the period around 1900, with background information on Schiele, Kirchner, Grosz & Co. The app announces events and other items scheduled in conjunction with the exhibition. It offers recommendations on restaurants, cafés and hotels, as well as tips for things to do in the evening. Apart from videos, the app invites you to play a quiz game based on “Griaslersprache” – the Viennese slang used by petty criminals around 1900. Guess the meaning of “Glurren”, “Kipferlschmied” and “Obermann” (in the German version only). Test your knowledge and discover how many of these terms have survived until today.
